Less severe cases can with drugs such as 5-amino salicylic acid or sulphasalazine are treated, the most serious drugs such as corticosteroids, either orally or in severe cases, enemas injections. After an acute attack with these drugs, the 5-amino salicylic acid-treated or sulfasalazine should accompany for many years. Relapse cases of serious illness can be treated by the stronger or more effective immunosuppressive of the operation. Because the surgery removes the colon, the immune system reacts against, is the only definitive treatment of the disease.
